Get to Know the Face Behind the Camera

Hi, Everyone!

My name is Hayley Phillips and the photo you see includes me, my fiancé, and our cute boy Apollo. I wanted to have an area on my website where you can get to know me!

My Story.

I was born on April 15th, 1999. I have grown up in Georgia right under Chattanooga TN. I just graduated (May 2021) with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. School has always been a struggle for me, mainly because of learning disabilities as well as anxiety all combining to make school and life have extra challenges. Mental health and disorders are something that is very important to me from my own disabilities and other instances my life has thrown at me. I will begin graduates school this Fall (2021) to work on a master's in clinical mental health. Photography has been an interest of mine since about 2011 when I was first introduced to a DSLR camera, going on to take photography classes and purchasing my first DSLR camera in 2017. That lead me to start my Hayley Phillips Photography Instagram page in 2018.

Why Did I Start Photography?

Photography to me started as a hobby. I thought taking photos of my friends and editing is fun. I was that fun friend who wanted to take Instagram photos for my friends. That led to me starting to get inquiries from people who want me to take photos of them. That lead to me beginning to charge people for photos and it leads to where I am now. Growing more than I EVER thought I would and I am so thankful for anyone who has ever hired me, followed one of my pages, referred a friend, shared my name, left a review, or just encouraged me. Photography is still a love I have and I still do it for very similar reasons that I began with. I want to provide people with high-quality memories that will last a lifetime and more. What has remained the same is that I want to do this for my clients. Yes, I need money to survive so that is why everyone works a job but when you love a job there is more of a reason for doing the job. "If you have a job you love you will never work a day in your life." Not sure who said that but people I look up to have always told me that. I live by that quote.

What is it Like to Work With Me?

Hiring me is like hiring a best friend and hype girl who wants at the very least to make you look amazing in photos and at the most to form a friendship, make moments that will last forever, provide a service and have fun while doing it, and help you every step of the way. I can say that is true for every type of session. Wedding? Yes, I will help you with vendor recommendations, I will hype you up because you are gorgeous or handsome. I will be out on the dance floor dancing and taking photos of all the fun. Portrait sessions? Still the same. Need outfit recommendations? I got you. Do you feel like you are awkward in front of the camera but you want some candid casual shots? I GOT YOU! Need milestone photos of your little one? I love little ones and a little one always tends to love me or maybe it's my fun-looking camera. I am patient with the little one and truly love kids! I have worked with kids of all ages starting the day after they were born in the hospital. If this sounds like someone you want to work with let's chat because I would love to get to know you!

Thats All Folks!

That's me! That me in all my ADHD and ADD glory. I am passionate about and love my business. People often ask me "If you love photography why are you going to school?". That is a great question. I am ADD and ADHD I have a lot of hobbies and passions. On top of that God has a plan for me. God has set it on my heart and I truly believe in my path to pursue psychology. With that said, I am here in the photography game for the long hall. I love it. I have done it to get me through my undergraduate degree and I will continue to do it through my graduate school and far beyond that. I truly love it. It is my hobby that makes me happy, makes me get out in the world, my creative outlet, and it makes me money. It is truly the best of all worlds and I am so happy to have my business.
