Torrance and Lindsey said their "I Dos" on April 19th, 2025, in Northwest Georgia. Their beautiful wedding took place at Lindsey's family home, and their reception was at The Colonnade.

Lindsey and her bridesmaids got ready in her parents' beautiful home. I had stepped out onto the porch to capture their detail photos while the girls were getting ready. I always like to wait until the bride is done with her makeup and almost done with her hair before I step in and take photos. I often capture the makeup photos when any touchups are made. No one really wants to be photographed with half of their makeup on.

Once the bride was ready it was time for her to get in her to get dressed. Lindsey had her mother help with her dress, her bridesmaids helped with jewelry and shoes, and her father helped put her veil in. Having people help you get ready is often necessary, but also a great way to include the people you love in some additional candid shots.

The guys were getting ready just next door at another family member's home. It is always nice to walk into a space where the guys are practically ready to go, and that is exactly what happened this day. We did Torrance's getting-ready pictures on this beautiful porch with some family members who were very special to him. The guys are always easy and I always tell them, my goal is to have you with me for as little time as possible becuase I know they have things they want to go do.

As a photographer, my job is to get the photos, which doesn't mean it needs to take a long time. I know I am not the star of the wedding day, the couple is, and they deserve to celebrate in the way they want to. Not stuck in front of a camera all day.

Between the two side-by-side properties, there was space for parking, shaded space for portraits and for guests to wait, and a beautiful pond and gazebo to get married by. One thing that always makes a place a great location to get married is shady spots. The middle of the day is not the ideal time to take photos, but it has to be done on a wedding day. Having shady places is essential to getting those photos.

The ceremony was beautiful, with so many emotions from crying to laughing.

Can we take a moment to recognize Torrance's tears when he sees Lindsey coming down the aisle? This man loved this woman with all his heart, and it is so beautifully displayed in these photos. What you do not see in the photos is the recording Lindsey made that was played right before she walked down the aisle, talking to Torrance about their wedding day. It was so beautiful and got the waterworks going for many people, including me. After specializing in weddings for the past 5 years, I have heard so many wedding ceremonies, I often tune them out, listening for certain cues. This ceremony kept me engaged; I listened. It wasn't hectic, it wasn't slow, it was beautiful.

After the ceremony, we moved into family photos, full wedding party photos, and then couples photos. We were blessed with the sun being in the perfect position behind this big tree for these portraits. The sun was so soft and beautiful, and these photos feel so timeless to me.

Time for the recreation, which Lindsey and Torrance were excited to get to. So often do people NOT want to dance at the reception, bride, groom, guests, anyone. This wedding had more dancing at it than I had ever seen! I know the DJ must have been living for this crowd! For their reception, they had dinner, a bar (which often helps get people dancing lol), they did their first dances, as well as mother and father dances. The thing about their reception that stood out to me, besides all the dancing, was the enthusiasm of their guests during the bouquet and garter toss. These ladies and gentlemen were NOT holding back, and we have the photos here to prove it. Both times were left on the ground, and someone celebrated cheerfully.

The reception was a beautiful representation of how excited people were for Lindsey and Torrance to tie the knot. The community around them came together to make this day happen and to celebrate with them. I am so blessed to have captured such a beautiful wedding day. Thank you, Lindsey and Torrance, for choosing Hayley Phillips Photography for your special day!
